REA FORECAST 1998
Sacramento's regional economy continues to gain strength as the
economies of Southern California and the Bay Area move forward.
Adjusted data released from EDD last week showed employment strength
not indicated in November and December. The annual change increased by
4,000 jobs, akin to other adjustments in service/information industry data
that occurred in 1997 during EDD's benchmarking.
REA expects
employment growth of approximately 21,800 jobs, year/year annual average.
Spillover growth, in addition to internal growth, will fuel the expansion.
This represents an annual growth rate of 3.11 percent.
